Home Security Monitoring

As a home owner you want to protect your family and property. One of the best investments you can make to protect your home is a Home Security Monitoring system or an alarm system. A good Home Security Monitoring system monitors your home 27 hours a day 7 days a week. The monitoring service can also provide smoke and carbon monoxide detection as well. Once an alarm has been activated in your home the monitoring company will contact the police or fire department to respond to your residence. Since a Home Security Monitoring system offers all these benefits there are a few things you need to consider as a home owner who would be making this type of investment.

The cost in my opinion this is the least important aspect to consider as when purchasing a Home Security Alarm system. However, as a first time buyer there may be some ways you can cut the cost on your purchase of a monitoring system. There is an upfront cost in most cases for installation. This can range from 100 to 200 dollars I would check for specials when the installation costs are waived for a first time customers. The other option is to Do It Yourself. This option is free but you would have to purchase the equipment you will be installing in your home. The equipment can cost range from 100 to 500 dollars depending on what you need to have to protect your home. Lastly, the monthly monitoring service contract cost. This normally ranges from 40 to 60 dollars monthly. If you sign a contract for 2 or 3 years you can also get s discount like the first month free or a discounted monthly price. They may offer free equipment as well for signing a contract with the alarm company again shop around see what offers are out there.

The actually equipment you would need to protect your home in my opinion would be a key pad, door contacts on all entry doors to the home and a motion detector or two depending on the size of your home. This would be all you need in most cases to be alerted of a home break in. Another feature you should have is remote access to your Home Security Monitoring system. You should be able to arm and disarm your system with a Smartphone, tablet or a remote control device.

There are many other automated features you can have such as Security automation which allows you to lock and unlock doors, check your CCTV system, or energy savings where you can adjust your thermostat or shut off lights. All great features to have so you would have to make the final decision on what you need to protect your home.

I hope this helps please leave a comment below

  4. If you do invest in a security system, make sure you get one that you can control via your smartphone - even if it costs extra, it's definitely worth it. Being able to arm/disarm your system as well as lock/unlock your doors remotely is so handy, and you don't really realize how handy it is until you're able to do it :)

  6. This is a wonderful idea to protect both the family and the home. There are far too many creeps out there nowadays who would love nothing more than to break into your home and steal all your belongings. I really like the ones that enable you to monitor from your phone.
