Gym Room

I hit the gym very often and I have been a victim of a locker theft many years ago. So with the weather getting better many of us will be working on our summer bodies often when we go to the gym we will use a locker to keep our belonging secure while we work out. You would be very surprised how often a locker theft occurs every year. Unfortunately the reason of why locker thefts are on the rise is because of how to videos online on how to make a shim out of a soda can. A shim is a thin piece of metal you can use to unlock a lock or a combination lock within seconds. There are a few measures you can take to secure your belongings in a locker while you work out.

When you decide to go to the gym think about what you really need and what you can leave home. For example if you are driving to your local gym then you need your driver license, your car keys and your cell phone. If your gym is within walking distance you should just bring your cell phone and home keys. Remember you are there for just a short while you really don’t need too many items in your locker.

When you are picking out a locker to store your items try and use a locker located in a high traffic area. You want the area close to the shower entrance, close to the bathrooms, or the steam room. These areas are high traffic areas in the locker room and would not be easy for a person to break into your locker without being noticed. If the locker is in an isolated area do not use that locker.

Finally do not spare expense when you are buying a lock or combination lock. You want to purchase a lock with two notches. A cheap lock will just have one notch to secure the lock so it is easy to get open using the shim method.
